Basic First Aid Instructions

Some basic first aid instructions are in order for any household.

Every parent knows what it's like to have a quiet afternoon interrupted by the cries of a child who has suddenly suffered some kind of injury.  And when that happens, some first aid tips come in handy.

First Aid Instructions

What I would like to do here is something different than just review basic first aid instructions.  I want to provide you with some useful first aid tips using essential oils.

By all means, it's a good idea to get some training in first aid procedures.  Most communities provide this kind of training now and then through their local American Red Cross.

It's also wise to have a home first aid kit around.  You need to have some basic first aid kit supplies  –  like sterile dressings, adhesive bandages, scissors, tweezers, and sterile gloves – on hand to address the typical incidents that may arise in any household.

It's not a bad idea to have a first aid book that you can refer to as well.

But beyond this, I would encourage you to incorporate some therapeutic essential oils with your first aid arsenal.  This would provide an ideal complement to your standard first aid kit supplies, and have you on your way to developing your own natural first aid kit.

Natural First Aid Kit

Therapeutic essential oils can do an excellent job of providing fast and effective relief for everyday injuries  – in a nontoxic way.

For example, there are a couple of essential oil blends – Purification and Thieves – that are very effective cleansing agents because of their natural antibacterial properties.  We use them regularly as an antiseptic.

Lavender does an extremely effective job with the typical burns that we run into now and then.  When it comes to kitchen injuries – or even sunburn –  I would not want to be without lavender.  It can come in handy in a spray form, too.

Essential oils can also serve as effective pain relievers and remedy sudden stomach upsets, like those that arise from food poisoning.  This is reason alone to be sure and have them on hand.

I have found with these oils alone I have been able to effectively address countless health issues needing immediate attention.  And this has saved hours in time that would have otherwise been spent seeking other remedies - or in pain.

First Aid Tips

Here are some specific first aid tips using essential oils that I can pass on from what we have learned. . .

Bee Stings

Burns

Open Wound Care

Food Poisoning

Poison Ivy

Splinters

Sprains

In addition to these first aid tips, there are a couple of other things that I should mention. . .

First, be sure and seek medical attention whenever it is required. If your child falls out of a tree and obviously breaks a bone, don't waste time getting the emergency medical care you need.

Also, keep in mind that situations requiring first aid are not limited to home, so be sure and have a natural first aid kit comprised of essential oils that you can take with you.

As you supplement your basic first aid instruction with therapeutic essential oils, you will find yourself in a much a better position to take a more natural and effective approach to providing first aid to those you love.
