Essential Oils and Emotions

Struggles with emotions can be significant issues.

People tend to respond to these struggles in different ways.

Some people stuff their feelings, so no one is aware of their challenges. While others 'wear their feelings on their sleeve,' making their issues known to those around them.

In any case, when it comes to your emotions – whether you suppress them or reveal them to the world – they can be harmful to your well-being.

Your emotions can adversely affect your health... including your immune system... and your even your genetic structure.

And, of course, unresolved feelings can damage relationships as well.

In short, getting emotionally healthy plays a big part in your overall wellness... and becoming the person you want to be.

Fortunately, essential oils can be very helpful to those seeking to overcome their emotional barriers.

For example, the aldehydes and esters that comprise many essential oils have very calming effects. And this calming can help keep harmful emotions from becoming predominant in our lives.

Essential Oils and the Limbic System

Another reason essential oils can have a powerful affect on our emotions has to do with the limbic system of the brain.

You've probably experienced the following...

You've walked into someone's house and smelled something like baked cookies or freshly cut flowers...

And as you did, it triggered a positive memory or feeling... like being at your grandmother's house.

How does this happen?

It's due to the close connection between the olfactory (or smell) part of your brain and the limbic system (which plays a huge part in storing memories and emotions).

With the use of essential oils this connection can be used to bring freedom from negative emotions.

For instance, if you're facing an emotionally charged situation, you can apply some essential oils – either by inhaling them (as with a diffuser), rubbing them on the chest, or adding them to a bath.

As you do this, an involuntary response is set in motion... as tiny essential oil molecules enter your bloodstream.

And as these molecules activate the amygdala and hippocampus, you are in a better position to cope with emotional challenges.

Releasing Emotions with Essential Oils

Most people are aware of some emotional strongholds in their lives. These challenges include barriers such as anger, anxiety, frustration, guilt, jealousy, panic, and restlessness... among others.

As you become aware of your own emotional blocks, you can apply a process of releasing with essential oils.

Letting go of destructive emotions through a process of releasing can be extremely powerful and productive.

Some who have been bound by difficult memories or emotional strongholds for decades, have gained new freedom to become more of who they know the can be by entering a better space emotionally with the help of essential oils.

I know in my own life, I've been able to break through some longstanding emotional barriers through the process of releasing with essential oils. And this has been huge when it comes to making progress on some of my most important personal goals!

One of the things I like best about releasing emotions with essential oils is that it's a very gentle process.

And progress can take place very quickly, too!

This is something I've seen in my own life, and as I've worked with clients using the Aroma Freedom Technique.
