Massage Therapy Benefits

Is getting a massage more than just a luxury?  Absolutely!

Although many people see a massage as an indulgence that can be easily done without, there are a growing number of people who have experienced massage therapy benefits that would say otherwise.

And with therapeutic essential oils, these benefits get even better!

Benefits of Massage

There are a number of basic benefits that come from massage therapy.  These include...

  • Improved circulation, which helps to eliminate wastes and supply nutrients to needed parts of the body.
  • A strengthened immune system as a result of improved lymph flow and the removal of toxins.
  • Better flexibility through the stretching of muscles.
  • Reduced stress and anxiety by bringing relaxation to the nervous system, which can help maintain normal blood pressure.
  • Improved recovery in the aftermath of an injury or surgery.

In addition to these general benefits, massage therapy can also help the body overcome a number of specific conditions.

Massage Therapy and Essential Oils

Typically, when a massage is given, some kind of massage oil is used.  The quality of these oils can vary greatly, whether they be essential oils or a vegetable carrier oil.

When quality therapeutic essential oils are used, not only is the massage experience enhanced, but so are the benefits.

How is it that essential oils bring about greater massage therapy benefits?  Here are a few of the ways. . .

  • Enhanced circulation
  • Hightened mental awareness
  • Support to the immune and lymphatic systems
  • Improved energy flow
  • Emotional release

These kind of benefits are especially found through the application of the Raindrop Technique. This is something I know from my own experience.

The Raindrop Technique is a specialized application using therapeutic-grade essential oils with massage.

Another excellent essential oil application worth learning about is the Vita Flex Technique.  We've used this one with great results, too.

If you go to a massage therapist, you may want to ask about incorporating therapeutic essential oils.  And, remember, you can also apply essential oils through any massage therapy techniques you use at home.
