Pilates and Essential Oils

Essential oils are a great way to enhance any exercise routine. Let's consider, for example, when you combine Pilates and essential oils.

Pilates, if you are unaware, is a system of exercises designed to improve strength, flexibility, and balance.

One thing that makes Pilates stand out among other forms of exercise is its focus on the core – or muscles of the abdomen, low back, and hips.

A strong and healthy core is vital to overall health and well-being because of it's connection to other parts of the body... and even your level of mental awareness.

It's because of these benefits, that I do Pilates exercises practically every day... and using essential oils and Pilates together only improves the overall experience.

So why would someone use essential oils for Pilates?

Musculoskeletal Support

The first reason someone would use Pilates and essential oils together has to do with musculoskeletal support.

Exercising with Pilates can be intense as you seek to maximize strength, coordination, and endurance.

Due to this intensity, it's beneficial that your musculoskeletal system has all the support it needs. This will not only help you through your exercise routine, but also with your recovery.

Copaiba and wintergreen essential oils are ideal for providing the kind of muskuloskeletal support that Pilates requires. There are also various essential oil blends and creams that are supportive as well.

 Energy and Optimal Performance

Pilates consumes a lot of energy, making it an ideal form of exercise for overall fitness and weight management.

But in order to make the most of any Pilates session, it's to your advantage if you're able to optimize your energy and performance.

The use of citrus essential oils – like lemon, orange, and tangerine – as well a peppermint can be a great way to energize both before and during a Pilates workout.

And thanks to the vast number of molecules that in just a drop of essential oils, it doesn't take much to bring about noticeable results.

Supports a Wellness Lifestyle

Most people who do Pilates already have an interest wellness -- that's why they do these exercises!

But to adopt a more complete wellness lifestyle, those who enjoy Pilates are usually interested in other healthy practices as well... such as eating a good diet and getting good rest.

The use of essential oils is another practice worth incorporating.

A big reason for this is that essential oils are able to affect the body directly at the cellular level. This makes them perfect for not only optimizing the benefits of Pilates... but also supporting one's overall health and well-being.

Essential Oils for Pilates is Easy to Incorporate

Essential oils have become popular--in large part--because they're very easy to use. This ease-of-use would apply to using essential oils for Pilates as well.

Using essential oils and Pilates can be as simple as inhaling some peppermint before a workout session. Or, it might be more involved and actually incorporate essential oils throughout a class.

This is something that a friend of mine, who is a STOTT Pilates instructor, does regularly at her studio.

By the way, if you happen to be a Pilates instructor or studio owner, be sure and get a copy of the Special Report I have about incorporating essential oils at your Pilates studio.

NOTE: Just about all of what's written above would apply to using essential oils for yoga as well.
